Building a bridge

If one of the problems we face is that people view the Bible and Christianity as irrelevant to their lives then we must do something that shows them its relevance.

We need at the very least to be a bridge that brings those who view Christianity as irrelevant together with those who live in the light of its relevance. Dinner parties, nights out, Barbeque's, parties etc... provide an ideal opportunity to do this. As well as taking opportunities ourselves to show others its relevance as we face up to the same struggles in life which are common to everyone. We need to do this and talk to our friends about them in a way which brings to light the Bible's relevance, rather than keep this to share in our home group or church.

We also need to be aware of opportunities to bless the community. Random Acts of Kindness are becoming a bit of a fad at the moment. Just randomly doing something for someone you have never met and may never meet again. How much more should the church be involved in this? When was the last time your church put something on that was just for the community and did not ask anything in return?
