When the government passes the Equality Bill. This bill whilst protecting the positions of pastor, worship leader and evangelist, will mean that it will be much harder to employ staff in other positions whose conduct is consistent with the churches teaching on sexual behaviour.
The government argues that this right should only apply to church employees whose main duty is to lead worship or teach doctrine. Anyone else (e.g. a youth worker, pastoral worker, women's worker, ministry trainee and so on) would not have to practice what the church preaches and this bill would make it unlawful for a church to dismiss someone in these positions who flouted Biblical teaching on sexual morality.
It is vitally important that Christians write to their MP about this issue as soon as possible! Why not use www.writetothem.com enter your postcode and the site will find your MP and you can then compose an email which they will send for you.
