On Sunday night we are looking at Matthew 6 where Jesus establishes the principle of living to please God rather than for the praise of men in our exercise or acts of righteousness, he looks at the three main Jewish acts of piety - giving, praying and fasting and how each should be God ward not man-ward in the way we practice them.
It got me thinking and wondering about what the badges of spirituality are that we wear to be thought Godly or praised by others? I guess for some it may be what version of the bible they read, or attendance at church meetings, or even what books they have read, who the pastor of their church is and how well known they are, what conferences they have been to. If you have any others you can think of please feel free to comment and add them or challenge the ones I've suggested above.
