I've begun re-reading John Chapman's excellent Setting hearts on fire this afternoon as I prepare for Sunday. Two great quotes stand out from the first chapter:
"Preaching is not sharing my thoughts with you but thinking God's thoughts aloud"
"The Holy Spirit is an active agent in both speaker and hearer. Consequently prayer is essential."
They apply as much to the Sunday School teacher or Home group leader as the pastor.
